Svarogia is an ancient kingdom inspired by Slavic mythology, once filled with powerful magic and strange magical creatures. Long ago, magic flowed freely through the land — but over the centuries it slowly disappeared. Today, only traces of it remain in enchanted objects, old rituals and rare potions.
The people of Svarogia have never stopped hoping that magic will one day return. According to an old prophecy, someone from the royal bloodline may be destined to restore it. Many believed that person to be Princess Vesna, the eldest daughter of King Radovin.
Last year’s Fantasy Ball took place during the betrothal celebration of Princess Snežana and Prince Kazimir, heir to a neighboring kingdom. Originally, however, Kazimir was meant to marry Vesna. Everything changed after the shocking murder of Queen Ljudmila Sofija Amelija III. Princess Vesna was seen running away from the Queen’s private chambers covered in blood. Before anyone could question her, she disappeared from the kingdom.
Some believed Vesna killed the Queen. Others believed she was framed. And some whispered that her disappearance was connected to the ancient prophecy and the return of magic itself.
In response, the King invited the greatest detectives, nobles and scholars from across the realm to attend the Ball and uncover the truth behind the Queen’s death. The murderer was Princess Snežana! Participants will discover the consequences of this gruesome deed and new court intrigue at the next event.
The event is open to all — *khm* well understood wealthier and more important — inhabitants of Svarogia. But Snežana has extended her own invitation as well to sever groups of the kingdom's subjects that for one reason or another aren't happy with the current running of the kingdom. The alliance with Snežana works in their favor, but only if she manages to take over control again — and she needs their help for that. She's looking for:
— magical beings,
— spies,
— political schemers,
— and those willing to use physical force to help reach her goals.
Are you ready to align with Snežana for the good of your own interests?
A year has passed since the unfortunate engagement celebration and the indictment of Princess Snežana. Rumors about the return of magic and the future of the monarchy continue to circulate throughout the kingdom. Trust in the royal family is waning, and old political alliances are slowly breaking down.
This year, the people of Svarogia gather at the fair on Independence and Monarchy Day—a grand celebration of the kingdom’s history, power, and unity. Nobles, merchants, adventurers, mercenaries, magical creatures, and guests from neighboring lands come to the fair. But the festive atmosphere and noble speeches are merely a cover for dangerous political negotiations.
Meanwhile, Princess Snežana has escaped from prison and no longer wishes to live in her sister’s shadow. She is secretly gathering allies who would help her seize power and reshape the kingdom in her own image.
In exchange for their support, she promises influence, high positions at court, and political power.
While deciding on your look this year we're encouraging you to choose a faction to align with and help them gain the most support from Snežana.
The kingdom has been struck by a series of natural disasters, resulting in two exceptionally poor harvests. Many people have died of starvation—none of them related to the participants, of course; starvation is the lot of the lowest classes—yet the children of nature believe that the royal family has failed to care for them. They see Snežana as a capable ruler who understands that sometimes something must die so that something better can flourish.
The Children of Darkness are the ones who supply the kingdom with alatyr—an exceptionally durable yet dangerous crystal that grows only in the darkest corners. They believe the kingdom is putting too much pressure on them and demanding ever-greater quantities of the crystal, but darkness is not bottomless, and if we cross the line, we will all pay the price. Snežana offers them new areas for harvesting alatyr, which she will secure through her marriage to Kazimir.
The Children of the Sun are the wealthier and more exalted members of the kingdom, who love to enjoy a fine wine—or at least they usually do. This year, the king took all their grapes under the pretext that the starving people must be fed. Nonsense! They’re convinced he’s set aside most of the grapes for his own private wine supply. They’re rallying behind the Snežana just to get rid of the king, who shouldn’t have any say in the matter anyway, since the only true ruler is a woman.
